Management of Religious Education on Dhamma Section of Sangha Organization in Banpong District, Ratchaburi Province

Abstract

The objectives of research Paper were (1) to study management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district Sangha, Ratchaburi province, (2) to compare the opinions of monks to management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district Sangha, Ratchaburi province, classified by personal data, and (3) to study the problems, obstacles and suggestions for development of management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district Sangha, Ratchaburi province. The research methodology was the mixed method research, that the quantitative research used the questionnaire as the tool for collecting the data in the field study from 190 monks in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province. The statistics were used for the data analysis through frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), F-test, One-way Analysis of Variance and Least Significant Difference: LSD. and the qualitative research had the documentary analysis and interview as the tool for collecting the data in the field study from 12 key informants and analyzed the data through the content analysis technique.

             The findings of this research were as following :

             1. Management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province, overall, was in high level at mean of 4.00, when considering the aspect found that in high level all aspects. For highest aspect was teachers, at mean of 4.07. The lowest aspect mean was the instruction media, at mean of 3.92.

             2. The comparisons for opinions of monks to management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province, classified by personal data, found that Dhamma education degree had opinion of management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district, Ratchaburi province, the significantly difference at 0.01. The hypothesis was accepted, But, other personal statuses were not different.

             3. The problems and obstacles of management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district Sangha, Ratchaburi province, as following ; The aspect of teachers: some offices of religious education have a small number of teachers, some teachers lack effective techniques and teaching methods, and some teachers do not teach full time. The aspect of instruction media: some offices of religious education lack of budget support, some offices of religious education use many standard books, and some teaching materials are not suitable for the classroom. The aspect of measurement and evaluation: some teachers lack the skills to measure and evaluate, lack of assessment on application in real life, and the aspect of place and environment: some offices of religious education lack tranquility, some of the classrooms are hot in the afternoon, most teaching activities are within the classroom. And, suggestions for management of religious education on Dhamma section of sangha organization in Banpong district Sangha, Ratchaburi province, as following; The aspect of teachers: recruitment of teachers to sufficient number and appropriate for the number of students, or the teachers and the students of each school to learning together in the form of religious education at the sub-district, the technical education training for teachers to be able to motivate and interest students, and the teacher acts teaching as a full teaching schedule. The aspect of instruction media: the budget allocation for the purchase of teaching equipment by the Buddhist as their contribution to the fund for the education of monks and novices to the office of religious education, to have the books, hand book and textbooks to the students to the same standard, and the choice of materials to suit the conditions of the classroom. The aspect of measurement and evaluation: training and technical knowledge about the measurement and evaluation of teaching by highly qualified scholars, and the integrated form of measurement and evaluation by analysis and synthesis for applications in reality, and the aspect of place and environment: the venues for the independent place for, the air conditioning or fans in the classroom or planting trees to shade light to the classroom in the afternoon, and should be opportunity to change locations due to stress to students.
